The company is lead by Allan Watt, New Zealand’s longest practicing and most qualified expert. He has presented evidence in numerous civil and criminal cases in New Zealand and Australia. He has also attended numerous Anton Piller orders to assist with evidence collection.

A high standard of procedures is followed in every case making Allan Watt Computer Forensics, your company of choice when requiring forensic expertise.

Do you have a case where some evidence may be contained on a computer mobile phone or other device? DON’T let the IT staff near it, in the FIRST instance have it forensically imaged by Allan Watt Computer Forensics. The device will be imaged to international law enforcement forensic standards and then it is preserved for later analysis, should it be required. This is the only standard the courts will accept.

THIS IS A MUST DO!

Disk Analysis
Once the evidential standard image of the electronic device has been made, it can be forensically analysed.

This includes recovering deleted files, pictures, internet history, emails and web mail information. Also computer activity, including start-up and shut down times, file copying and if external storage devices like a USB memory device have been attached to it or if CD/DVD burning has occurred.

Analysis can also determine what activity was done by specific users and often
profiling of users can be done from the nature of the computers activity.

For mobile phones, call history, contacts details, text messaging and photo recovery.

Other Information
The two most important aspects of computer forensics are:
  • Having the investigations carried out to international forensic standards, so not to have the evidence ruled as inadmissible due to mishandling or incorrect procedures being followed.

  • Have a recognised and academically qualified Computer Forensic Expert. Not anyone can stand up and present evidence before the court, Experts must have knowledge of the Law, Forensic Procedures, Information Technology, Investigations Skills and Knowledge of the Computer Forensic Tools. Therefore, as well an expert should have an academic qualification an international certification and have undergone training in the software and investigative procedures.
